"The Best Of Mick Taylor: 1967-1969" tab/notation PDF book

**UPDATE 2023**

Even though I haven't made any new blogs, lately, my books are still for sale. Please e-mail me at mjoiner327@yahoo.com if you have any trouble.

This is a tab book for the guitar playing of Mick Taylor during his tenure with John Mayall, covering the years 1967-1969. Although most people know him from his playing in The Rolling Stones, I feel his strongest playing was from this time period. Anyone interested in purchasing the book can click the "Buy Now" button to send payment. After Payment is received, I will personally e-mail them the PDF file next time I get back on the computer. Just a reminder: this is a PDF file only - there is no physical copy!

Note: A few of the songs are only the guitar solo, otherwise the whole song is transcribed. Check below to see which songs are which. The songs in the book will be from the following John Mayall albums:

CRUSADE

- Driving Sideways
- Me And My Woman
- My Time After A While
- Oh Pretty Woman
- Snowy Wood
- Tears In My Eyes
- I Can't Quit You Baby

BARE WIRES

- Hartley Quits
- No Reply
- Start Walking (from the Bare Wires Suite) (solo only)
- Open A New Door (from the Bare Wires Suite)

BLUES FROM LAUREL CANYON

- Fly Tomorrow (solo only)
- Long Gone Midnight (solo only)
- Someone's Acting Like A Child (solo only)
- Vacation (solo only)
- The Bear (Intro solo and guitar solo only)
- Walking On Sunset

THRU THE YEARS

- Hide And Seek
- Knockers Step Forward
- Suspicions, Pt. 1 (solo only)

BACK TO THE ROOTS

- Marriage Madness

Here are some testimonials from people who purchased the book:

"For anybody considering the Mick Taylor tab book, let me say it's definitely a key buy. Covers the albums he did with Mayall just prior to joining the Stones and has some of his best work. mostly solo's but if you're an MT fan, that's where the genius is. Remarkable considering he was a teenager when he did a lot of these.
It includes Vacation, Walking on Sunset, Somebody's Acting Like A Child, Start Walking, Hartley Quits, Marriage Madness, Fly Tomorrow, and Driving Sideways plus 15 more. And it looks as good or better than any tab book you'll find at Guitar Center.
That's one man's opinion anyway, but I've always found it to be pretty sensible."

~ Mike Cormany Sandwich, Illinois

"Hello Mike. Just wanted to let you know how useful the Mick Taylor tab book is. The song list is really great. Although everyone knows Mick Taylor from the Rolling Stones, his earlier work with John Mayall is a treasure trove of licks for blues rock guitarists. As far as I know, you are the only resource for tabs of this period. The tabs themselves are accurate and easy to read. Well Done Mike! Thanks again."

~ John Duzik Henderson, Nevada

“This Mick Taylor book is amazing! Ignoring the fact that any Mayall-era Mick Taylor notation/tabs are almost non-existent, the work that has gone into this book is obvious. The print quality and layout of the book is outstanding. More importantly, the tablature and notation is accurate, capturing all the intricate fills and delicate bends typical of Mick Taylor ’s early work. Playing along with the book reveals the author has got the ‘touch’ necessary for translating Mick Taylor ’s exquisite work. As an aspiring blues guitarist I urge any Mayall or Mick Taylor fan to do yourself the favour and invest in this book.”

Due to the positive responses I received from my "Velvet Guitar" tab book, I followed that up with another tab book of Hank Garland's that combines songs from his other two jazz albums: "Jazz Winds From A New Direction" And "The Unforgettable Guitar Of Hank Garland." The book features almost every song from the two albums - it has all but one song from "Jazz Winds From A New Direction" and all but two songs from "The Unforgettable Guitar Of Hank Garland." Anyone interested in purchasing, can do so by clicking the "Buy Now" button. I will then e-mail the book the next time I get on my computer. Just a reminder: this is a PDF file only - there is no physical copy!

Here is a complete track listing:

2. Call D. Law
3. It's Love of Course
4. Move
5. Not For Me
6. Pop Goes The Weasel
7. Rainy Afternoon
8. Relaxin'
9. Riot-Chous
10. Tell Me (What Am I To Do)
11. Three-Four, The Blues
12. Unless You're In Love
13. Why Not?
14. You're Here Again

Here are some testimonials from people who purchased the book:

"I first became familiar with Hank Garland long ago through old vinyl records. I knew his playing to be smooth, fast, and swinging. I did not really realize how very deep his work was until I treated myself to a phenomenal piece of work by Mike Joiner, a transcription book of Garland's "Velvet Guitar". I bought it, played through it.....and went, "wait a minute; this stuff SMOKES!!" It's a book you will go over bar by bar, line by line, because there is so much to pick up; first, the transcriptions are dead-on accurate, in an easy-to-read font and layout, and thorough. Mike put out a second book of Garland transcriptions, that I bought sight-unseen based on his work in the first book. Highly recommended."

- James Seaberry Chicago, Illinois

"Just a short note to tell you how much I've enjoyed your new book on Hank Garland. Super accurate transcriptions of the one of the greatest jazz and country players in the history of the guitar! Thank you and please let me know what else you to have to look forward to in the future. Thanks!"

~ James Hahn, DDS Auburn, Maine

"Just a few words to let you know how much I appreciate you making the transcriptions of Hank Garland's music available. I purchased both the 'Guitar Antholgy' and 'Velvet Guitar' and I feel that they are made from heaven.
For years I had looked for for these transcriptions-not having good ears, I found it hard to copy Hank-but you have solved my problem. Anyone who is interested in Hank Garlands music should own copies of these two books. Once again, Many Thanks."

~ Frank Robinson Londonderry, United Kingdom
